look at some pictures (mostly bad) while i think of something to write

here are some facebook albums with mostly bad photos of events i have experienced and you have not for a variety of reasons.  Good photos are not a substitute for an actual experience. Providing the names of performers and pieces is the best i can do. giving links to follow so you can check out the performer on line , hear the music on YouTube rarely by the same performer but occasionally that does work out.

I thought i could embed the album but facebook changes thing so often this may only be a link

Barbara Hannigan with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra

Toronto Symphony Orchestra January 27 2016 my seat gave me a birds eye view. (as they usually do.)  the program was .Sibelius: "The Swan of Tuonela" from Lemminkäinen Suite, Dutilleux: Correspondances sung by Barbara Hannigan , and Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique. Peter Oundjian, conductor.

Facebook Album #JoeLewisMusicNotes2016

In the case of  Barbara Hannigan singing Dutilleux's Correspondances here she is performing the same piece with the Berlin Philharmonic on YouTube. as nice as it is to hear her sing it again it does not compare with the excitement of hearing/ seeing her live. Click here to watch

it seems my mother met Pekka Kuusisto after the concert, oh wait that is me. we chatted a bit, I told him i had heard him first in the Tim Slade film Four and we talked about Tim Slades new film The Destruction of Memory, i asked if he more North American dates and his connection with St Pauls had us talking about the Walker Center, I got his autograph on "Sibelius: works for violin and orchestra" with Tapiola Sinfonietta and him playing and conducting,. He was a just a plain nice guy.
